Alfred Rose posthumously Awarded, the Goa State Cultural Award in 2004

The 2nd Akhil Bharatiya Konkani Sangeet Sammelan was held at Alfred Rose Nagar, at Patto grounds in Panjim, Goa on February 7, 2004. The then Chief Minister, Manohar
Parrikar, who was the chief guest, posthumously awarded, the State cultural award to Alfred Rose. Accepting the prestigious award, Rita Rose thanked the Chief minister for making sure that deserving Konkani artistes are entitled for the state award irrespective of their residence. She said it would have been much better had her husband been nominated for the award when he was alive.

Alfred Rose seated with Remo Fernandes for the First All India Konkani Sangeet Samellan which was in Margao Goa on 9-10 Feb., 2002. Remo enthralled the audience at the Konkani Sangeet Sammelan, performing for the first time with the assistance of traditional Goan musical instruments.  Tomazinho and Irene Cardozo opened the tiatr slot with a number composed especially for the occasion.  M Boyer, Antonette Mendes, Rita Rose, Wilson & Sharon Mazarello, Anthony San, H Britton, Remmie Colaco, John D'Silva, etc were among the others who entertained the overflowing pandal.
